Speaking of Chess

This is a kick-ass chess set. The pieces are opaque until placed on the board. Righteous!

I WANT ONE. That is awesome until one of my cats knocks one of the pieces onto the floor and breaks it. “What piece was that?” “I don’t know”

First post! I’ve been lurking but now I have something to say: Neat chess set but kind of impractical. Set-up without knowing what the pieces are until you place them on the board could be a pain. And although I’m generally a fan of random Alice references, I think the upside down white knight thing could get old. Explaining it to everyone who doesn’t get it would definitely get old.

@David: It would involve some mental exercise when loading up the board (and especially when promoting a pawn), but I still think it’s cool. The fundamental problem with this board as with all other chess boards, is the space they require. Maybe someday I’ll have a drawing room separate from the living room where a permanent chess set can be installed, but not in the near future.
