It’s because I read The Bad Astronomy Blog that I get links like this major freaking awesome comparison of sizes between various science fiction spacecraft.

    Being a major SF buff, that is pretty friggin’ awesome. 🙂 It’s great to see how they all compare. The “2001 Space Odyssey” ring is probably the most realistic to current ISS size, shuttle size, and the current state of our technology.

    I wonder how many centuries it’ll take for our technology to catch up with our imagination? 🙂

    Ogle is right! Big ships that were missing: ‘Close Encounters’ mother ship, ‘ET’ ship, ‘Independence Day’ mother ship and city destroyer vessels.

    I’m always amused at how truly ridiculous the ‘Executor’ is.
