Apparently, if you are a licensed professional engineer in Tennessee, you are subject not only to a $140 bi-annual licensing fee, but also to an annual $400 “Privilege Tax.” Yay for us. Other professions are also subject to this tax, but thankfully, the Tennessee Department of Revenue makes it easy for you to pay for your privilege. Thusly, I found online at their revenue website this segment under their Frequently Asked Questions page.
How many payments in excess of $99 million do they get?! And I bet American express would love to get their share of that.
So, I was sad because I’ve been taxed again, yet happy because that FAQ really made my day.
